IPL : Anil Kumble appointed Kings XI Punjab head coach !!!

Anil Kumble has been appointed as the head coach of IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab ahead of the 2020 season. Kumble's appointment comes on the back of Mike Hesson's exit from the ranks halfway into his two-year contract. "It is a great challenge for me and an opportunity to get involved in the IPL again," KuAbmble told KXIP.in on Friday (October 11). "I look forward to working with the owners and the players, and hope to make a significant contribution with the team." Kumble has previously served as India's head coach in 2016-17 but this will be his first coaching role with an IPL franchise. He was involved as a player and captain with Royal Challengers Bangalore before joining the team as a mentor later on. He would then serve as the mentor of Mumbai Indians in the lead up to his India coaching stint, which ended on a rather acrimonious note. KXIP finished sixth in 2019 IPL, a slight improvement on the seventh position they finished in 2018....

IPL : David Hussey, Kyle Mills join Kolkata Knight Riders support staff !!!

After bringing in McCullum as head coach, KKR have added Hussey and Mills as the chief mentor and as bowling coach respectively for the 2020 IPL season. The announcement was made, as part of an overall revamp of the Knight Riders backroom. Franchise CEO Mysore said in a statement, "It's great to welcome Hussey and Mills to the Knight Riders Family. They bring a lots of experience as professionals, and are terrific individuals. We are confident that their contribution as part of the think tank of KKR, and to the KKR Academy, will be much more invaluable." David Hussey is a former KKR player, having represented the franchise in 23 games between 2008 and 2010. Shane Watson out of of Bangladesh Premier League !!!

Star Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson has been ruled out of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017 due to an abrupt muscle calf damage. Shane Watson was a part of defending champions Dhaka Dynamites who now suffer a big blow right before the start of tournament. “It’s our dangerous luck; Watson has fallen right into a sudden cuff muscle construction and won’t be right here for us,” said Dhaka Dynamites coach Khaled Masud. However, Kieron Pollard will be called in as his substitution now. “Truly there is no such thing as a time now to search for options. We’ll go ahead with Pollard now,” he added. The 36-year-old sustained the blow while playing for his local club Sutherland ahead of the tournament and it has been confirmed that Watson will not feature in the tournament.
