Lessons not learnt ,Srilanka beat Pakistan in test match !!!

Old is Gold. But the reality is ; it only used to be. Maybe now it is not for Pakistan. Pakistan have been beaten by Srilanka in first of the two tests.

Pakistan were starting the Mis-You era. Alot of shuffles were expected in the line-up but not in the pitch. Some un-expected changes were made ; playing 3 fast bowlers and only one lead spinner.

Pitch ; usually in Abu dhabi, is quite dry but well rolled. There ain't any cracks and batsmen enjoy a dream outing and hence the bowlers. , a hard toil. It was a surprise to see three fast bowlers in the lineup , being the first time since 2010. The ball started to turn square on the very first day even before lunch. There was a healthy tinch of grass on pitch but cracks were visible and ball was turning. Pakistani fast bowlers were flat throughout the game except Abbas.
They decided to utilize the home conditions and asked the curator to leave fresh and much grass on the surface but the grass was cut just before the game .

Toss wasn't in their control but batting order was. Earlier in May this year, Pakistan were asked to chase 180 by Westindies in second test. It was a seaming track and start wasn't good .They needed someone to step up the gas ; Sarfraz , but they didn't. Just when the things went out of control he came into bat with taileneders and was asked to do too much. Today again he should have promoted himself, he didn't and then when half the side was down, he had to bat with last recognized batsmen. Same happened in Asia Cup last year and in WC T20 . He proved his worth against India in Asia Cup when Pakistan bundled out for 88 but he scored half the runs. He wasn't promoted against UAE when 16-3 and against Do and Die Bangladesh encounter when 22-4, where he came at end and gave Pakistan some good crucial runs. He was promoted against Srilanka where he scored a 50.In WC T20, he still was asked to bat at 7 or 8 when team required some 50 runs of 25 balls which is too big a ask.

Today again the same happened. He being the captain himself, didn't come up the order and came in when it was too late.Though, the captain, coach and the team make-up has changed but mistakes are the same. So, lessons not learnt indeed.
