Australia look to make perfect India imperfect !!!

Its a perfect start and on a terrific road. So, India continue their home season from where they had left and more so importantly their run. This has been a phenominal run for them and they have extended it quite dramatically and have carried things very smoothly. It all started against Newzeland in September 2016 and is still going in Septemeber 2017. When India enter the feild tommorrow, it will mark one day less than a year when this home run started. India have began the Aussie challenge in quite a fashion, from where they were to where they ended up eventually, but also considering that they haven't been able to win the first game of a bilateral series against Australia and they will like to carry the form and momentum into the Eden Gardens, Kolkata where the second game will be played. There is a buzz around the city and the city has been presenting a sense of festivity. With the rain pouring down on the city, the city has still managed to create such sense in the lead up to the game, which is supposed to be an exciting one, plus rain curtailed.

Teams:-
India:
India have been very good as a side and have been in a perfect shape in the last year and a half. Their ever so reliable batting has been good thus far but the most exciting has been their bowling department which has improved and evolved extensively in the last 8-10 months.

However, the side has some weak links, which were on show in the last game where the top order didn't get going. They lost top three in space of two overs and for no run. But this isn't any thing new to the Kohli as the side has been through such things against Westindies, Pakistan and Srilanka.Dananjaya, Holder and Amir ran through their top order and there were no answers. But how can this be managed? The options are Rahul, Pandey, Jadhav, Yuvraj, Karthik and Dhoni. Though India have tried the former but are reluctant to use the latter especially Dhoni who hasn't enjoyed a chance in top order and India want to use him as finisher but it made quite a sense to send Jadhav at 5 rather than 6. Hardik Pandya's innings in the last game was quite a "hit-and-run" kinda knock and he should know more about the way he needs to bat. If the middle order fails, india need Axar or Jadeja in side to score runs in late middle order, had Bhuveneshwar failed with the bat, India would have been missing one of the two to get them to 280.Spinners and bowlers were not tested , to be honest, were not challenged by Aussies and it should remain the same.

Australia:
Australia were good with the bowl in the first half . There opening bowlers were excellent throughout the game, but the major problem was the middle overs. It was a surprise to see Smith using Zampa only, with Head and Maxwell being more than handy. He was misled by the behaviour of the wicket at the start and his body language at the start suggested that he knew but nothing. Stoinis was able to get wickets but couldnot put pressure on batsmen for Zampa to come and bowl. Alot was expected of Fualkner and  Zampa but none of them transpired. Australia need their bowlers especailly spinners to control middle overs but first Smith should give them a ball to bowl. The manner in which the the first innings ended, it disrupted the Australian batsmen and as they had seen the unexpected, they were even more disturbed by the rain and deduction of overs and target and can excuse that they were not given the opportunity to bat properly. The way they batted, there is nothing to write or to talk about it.

Team news:-

India:
India are likely to feild the same eleven although the middle order failed, it is highly unlikely that the lights of Jadeja or Rahul will get chance.

Australia:
Coulter-Nile and Cummins did bowl well and will be retained. Cartwright didn't get the desired opportunity to express his skills and ability, so he will get another chance. They have no options in batting rather tha Handscomb, who is certain ommision from the eleven.Zampa will get another chance. Richardson will have to wait. The only option is to swap Faulkner with Agar, considering India have all right-handed batsmen.

Pitch:-
Kolkata pitch always has seam, bounce and live grass on it but it spins more than seaming. With constant rain over three days, it will be interesting to see what will be on offer. Rain in the 18-over game here between India-Pakistan in T20 WC 2016  only saw the pitch to spin more. Its a high scoring ground with the last one-day being played between England and India earlier this year, where India fell to 315 in pursuit of 328.

Where :- Eden Gardens, Kolkata
 When :- 1:30 pm (PST)
Prediction :- Australia to win
